I didn't want to append this to the existing IIP thread so I figured I'd start a new post, hoping someone here has more brains than I to figure out why this won't work.

Ok so here's the scoop:

On my site I run Mike Bobbitt's Photo Album script and I'm trying to include the SSI he has available for a random photo from the album in a custom PAL box.

I've created the new PAL page and I did the include according to how I've read it's SUPPOSED to be done, but I just get an error:

Warning: Failed opening 'http://album.sofguild.com/cgi-bin/album/album.pl?random=1;ssi=1' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in c:\webs\forum\pals\randomphotopal.php on line 1

I've tried using a URL and a disk based path to the file and it simply doesn't work. I've tested the include statement on an HTM page, and I can include a basic text file this way on a test PHP page, but not the Perl script.

Mike's stumped and so am I... so I'm tossing this out to you folks to see what you come up with.

It is probably because you include the passed parameters ?random=1;ssi=1 in the include directive. Your best bet is to set the variables before you set the include directive which has to be a reference on a file. I am not sure though that it will work with Perl files

Hmm, that's kind of what I was thinking... Guess I'll put this on the back burner and kick it around some, while I finish upgrading my site to 6.3.
